The 2009-2010 preliminary operating budget for the South Shore Regional School Board is more than $72 million, an increase of $4.5 million over the 2008-2009 budget. Part of that increase is due to the inclusion of $3.2 million in school-based funds in the Board's operating budget, which were not included in operating budgets for previous years.

The 2009-2010 operating budget is available here.

The Finance Department has also developed a handbook on school-based funds. These are monies received, raised or collected in the name of a school or school groups, such as student councils or parent-teacher associations. They include school fees for services, various athletic activities, student agendas and so on, as well as funds donated to a school and fundraising activities for school trips and other initiatives.
