New Lunenburg Primary to Grade 9 School

The new Primary to Grade 9 school for the Lunenburg area will be built on the site of the current Lunenburg Junior Senior High School.

Design and construction of the new school will be managed by the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal, in consultation with the South Shore Regional School Board and the Department of Education. The school will be built to the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) gold standards. More information about the LEED standards can be found here.

Design work on the new school will begin in early December and construction is scheduled to get underway in July 2010. The new school is expected to be completed in December 2011.

A public meeting will be held early in the new year to answer questions about the project and to receive public input.
