Voting for Naming of New Lunenburg School Happening Today
Students from Lunenburg Academy, Riverport District Elementary School and Centre Consolidated School will be voting on five names today. The student votes will be tallied and presented to the Steering Committee. The Steering Committee will send the top three names to the Board for consideration and any/all final decisions, and communicate the name of the new school to all stakeholders.
By-election Nominations Open
Nominations for District 9 of the South Shore Regional School Board are now open. A nomination form and Candidate’s Deposit of CDN$200.00 shall be filed at the office of the Returning Officer, 69 Wentzell Drive, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm on nomination day, which is Tuesday, March 23rd 2010 or by appointment in the five business days preceding nomination day. Any person wishing to be entitled to be nominated for School Board Member in this election must meet the following requirements:
- Nominee must be a Canadian citizen of the full age of eighteen years at the time of nomination; and
- Nominee must have been ordinarily resident in District 9 (geographical description available at www.ssrsb.ca) for a period of six months immediately preceding ordinary polling day and continues to so reside; and
- Nominee is not disqualified under the Municipal Elections Act.
Hebbville Academy Parent Teacher Night Rescheduled
The Hebbville Academy Parent-Teacher originally scheduled for Thursday, March 4th had been cancelled and will now take place on Wednesday, March 10th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.New Germany High School Bus Run Change
Starting Thursday, March 4, 2010, there will be a new morning bus schedule for students who ride on Wade Ramey’s bus (Route 266) to New Germany Rural High School.
