School Opening

As we welcome students and staff back to school we recognize this year we are faced with unprecedented high temperatures.

There is currently no province-wide advice to close schools due to the heat and humidity. South Shore Regional Schools will open as scheduled on Friday, September 3rd, 2010 with the exception of Bridgewater Elementary due to construction delays.

Parents and guardians are always advised to use their discretion when deciding to send their children to school. Students will not be participating in strenuous activity during the school day.

We will continue to monitor the temperature and humidity levels in Lunenburg and Queens Counties. Any changes to scheduling will be announced to the public.
