The South Shore Regional School Board has completed its pandemic influenza plan.

The plan, which forms part of the region's Emergency Management Plan, is designed as an evolving document that will be regularly reviewed and revised as new information about the H1N1 flu virus emerges. As such, it is stamped as a draft document to encourage constant review.

The plan was developed by the region's Emergency Planning Team to ensure that SSRSB will be able to respond quickly and effectively, should a pandemic influenza threaten the Board's ability to deliver essential services. The region worked closely with the provincial Departments of Health and of Health Promotion and Protection to develop the plan and will take guidance from those departments in determining which elements of the plan may need to be implemented.

The plan is being shared with other regional school boards Nova Scotia. To view the South Shore Regional School Board Pandemic Influenza Plan, please click here.

The most recent information on the H1N1 virus in Nova Scotia is available at the Department of Health Promotion and Protection website here. Information about regional vaccination clinics can be found at the South Shore District Health Authority website here.
