Recently a group of passionate and dedicated students at Chester Area Middle School held a volleyball event to raise funds for the Wadeng Wings of Hope Charity, a group dedicated to education in South Sudan.

On April 9, 2014 students of the Lunenburg County Youth Advisory Committee received the Minister’s Award for Leadership in Crime Prevention, acknowledging their work in the areas of bullying, substance abuse and sexual harassment.
The theme for the 2014 symposium was Collaborating for Community Safety. The students attended the event which included presentations about reducing gun violence, resolving conflict in a productive manner, and redirecting at-risk youth behaviour toward more positive activities.
