Adult Education

In serving the diverse nature of students in Lunenburg and Queens Counties, the South Shore Regional School Board is committed to provide appropriate opportunities for all learners from Grades 7 to 12.

Adults needing to upgrade skills that require a high school diploma, as well as those secondary school students who have difficulty in a regular classroom setting, can find alternate education opportunities at various locations within the Board's jurisdiction.

The South Shore Alternate School and the Lunenburg Adult High School are both located in Bridgewater on the Nova Scotia Community College campus and offer programs for students to complete their high school diplomas.

The Gorham Memorial Education Centre in Liverpool offers three programs - the Queens Adult High School, alternate high school and middle-level transition.

At the Mahone Bay Centre in Mahone Bay, alternate high school and middle-level transition programs are available.

More information about the alternate high school and middle-level transition programs available at the Gorham Memorial Education Centre is available on the centre's website. Additional information about the Queens Adults High School is available on the school's website.
